1. Who we are
RentPal NG ("RentPal", "we") operates an online rental marketplace in Nigeria that connects prospective tenants with landlords and property managers, and provides listing, inspection-booking, messaging, tenancy record and rent-payment tooling.
2. What RentPal is — and is not
RentPal is a technology platform. We are not a landlord, an estate agent acting for you, a property manager, an escrow provider, an insurer, or a party to any tenancy agreement formed between a landlord and a tenant. Any tenancy, rent obligation or dispute arising from a letting is between the landlord and the tenant.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and a valid email address, which must be confirmed before your account is usable.
- Accounts are created as tenant or landlord accounts. Staff, moderator and administrator roles are assigned internally by RentPal only.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a tenancy in Nigeria.
4. Listings and moderation
Landlords submit listings, which enter a moderation queue. A listing is only publicly visible once RentPal moves it to the approved state. Listings may be rejected with a reason, suspended or archived. See our Verification & Moderation Disclosure for what these states actually mean.
5. Bookings and inspections
An inspection request is a request only. Landlords may approve, reject or propose another time. RentPal does not attend, supervise or guarantee inspections, and you are responsible for your own safety when visiting a property.
6. Rent, invoices and payments
Where a tenancy exists on the platform, rent invoices are generated by RentPal from the tenancy record. Invoice amounts, fees and currency are calculated server-side and cannot be altered by a tenant or landlord in the browser. Payments are processed by our payment partner as described in the Payment & Refund Policy.
7. Fees
Where platform fees apply, they are itemised on the invoice before you pay. No fee is charged that is not shown on the invoice you approve.
8. Acceptable use
Your use of RentPal is subject to our Acceptable Use & Listing Rules. We may suspend accounts or remove listings that breach those rules.
9. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the text, photographs and documents you upload, and grant RentPal a licence to host and display them for the purpose of operating the platform. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.
10. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or withdraw features. We aim to keep the platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, RentPal is not liable for losses arising from a tenancy, a landlord's or tenant's conduct, the condition or legal status of a property, or a decision you make based on information supplied by another user.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, for fraud, or where required by law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through our Support & Disputes page.
